The Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC) conducted hearing through electronic mode via its ‘e-Court platform‘ on June 15, 2017 – the first of its kind in any quasi-judicial regulatory authority in India. The move is in line with the union government‘s Digital India initiative. The initiative will also help the commission to dispose off petitions economically and efficiently. The e-Court platform has been developed by CERC’s IT team in association with the National Informatics Centre.
